Paul Wasicka
Video Image gallery See alsoPaul Wasicka was born on February 17, 1981 in Dallas, Texas. He is known for finishing second to Jaime Gold at the 2006 WSOP Main Event and for winning the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship.
He began to play poker in 2004 in an underground tournament that was held in Denver, Colorado and it seems it was a good path in Wasicka's life. Before playing poker, he was working as a bartender and also as a restaurant manager. He later quit his jobs and shifted his attention to poker.
As for Wasicka's tournament achievements, winning the second place at the 2006 WSOP Main Event granted him more than $6,000,000 and winning the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship granted him another $500,000. On his way to title and victory, he defeated Eli Elezra, Joe Hachem, T. J. Cloutier, Nam Le, Shannon Elizabeth and Chad Brown. He also finished 4th at the WPT LA Poker Classic to take home $455,615. In total, he has won more than $700,000 at WPT tournaments only. In 2007, he almost made it to the final table at the Aussie Millions but missed it, finishing the tournament in 12th place and winning $95,434. As of 2008, he has won more than $7,500,000 in live tournaments only.
Wasicka is also known by his nickname "Kwickfish" and is hometown is Las Vegas, Nevada. He has made an appearance on GSN's High Stakes Poker and can be found playing online at Full Tilt Poker.
